Fire destroys 100 cars after tearing through Gatwick Airport parking site
"I welcome the governments commitment to a youth mobility scheme with the EU, but getting an agreement has been slow. Lets use the upcoming UK- EU summit to get this deal over the line. We also need to make it easier for British citizens to work within Europe when its beneficial for both sides like touring artists who are still having to navigate bureaucratic hurdles.
We should then seek to rejoin both the customs union and the single market this parliamentary term. The trade potential and economic benefits of being in the customs union far outweigh any of the independent trade deals that have been secured.
The government should also say that we would rejoin the EU after the next general election effectively putting rejoin on the ballot paper and letting the British people decide.
One recent poll found that nearly 60% would support our country rejoining the EU, and this jumps to over 80% for 18 to 25-year-olds. This means that support to rejoin will only grow in the years ahead. So I encourage the government to be bold on this issue."

Insane.
Here in Australia, sunscreen is exempt from GST (our VAT) as long as it's only sunscreen (not mixed in with a a beauty product) and has an SPF rating of >15.
Given the northern summer getting nastier, this should be a no-brainer.
Skin cancer costs the country a lot more than the exemption.

Iranian cyber attack shuts down UK power plant for four days, report says
Middle East Eye

products
Things are a little bit different in the when it comes to these items, not only brand names.
For example I've never seen the possibility in to only buy one loo roll.
Hankies in Germany always come in a small pouch of ten which is sold by at least a ten-pack,
I've seen that sold as a single pouch, so I usually take my hankies from Germany.
More usual are those (to me) American boxes of hankies, the ones where you pull out one and the next already shows up, ready to be grabbed or to catch dust.
Do people in England buy those really expensive single packs to carry along, do they never take hankies or do they use fabric
The next weird thing is tampons. You can hardly get "normal" tampons, the ones where you don't have a fancy apparatus with lots of plastic parts around it, which needs a manual to use. That also makes them unbelievably expensive.
I assume that those might be made for woman who have their nails done to a point where they really shouldn't.
